Within the first month of the engagement, Boyken develops the project management plan. This plan serves as a guide to the entire process to use when completing the project. When creating the project management plan Boyken will:
- Assist the owner in clearly defining their objectives
- Determine the project requirements
- Develop the project strategy
- Create a project implementation plan with deliverables
- Develop the suggested procurement process for design and construction services.
- Create a preliminary schedule
- Analyze the Program vs. Budget, consider alternative schemes, and revise the Program and/or Budget as needed to meet the project requirements
- Perform an internal validation and execution checklist for the entire project management plan
- Develop a plan for the Client on how information may or may not be transmitted to the media
