University of Central Florida Student Housing Towers, Orlando, Florida

Often referred to as Westside Housing, the project consists of a 1,020-bed student housing facility comprised of four buildings and two parking structures with related infrastructure. It was constructed on the campus of the University of Central Florida and leased to UCF Athletics Association, Inc. The Series 2004A Project was constructed in two phases: Phase One consisted of a 510-unit student- housing building, a 700-space parking structure adjacent to the student-housing buildings and related infrastructure. Phase Two consisted of a 510-unit student-housing building, parking garage, and retail space.

The housing component of the Project consists of an “all suites” program, including 4-bedroom/2-bath and 4-bedroom/4-bath units with a small complement of 2-bedroom/1-bath suites and 1-bedroom/1-bath efficiencies. All bedrooms are single occupancy. Building amenities and features include landscaped and furnished external courtyard areas, separate lounges and laundry facilities on every floor as well as multiple vending machines strategically located throughout each building.

Boyken International’s staff provided monthly site inspections, reviewed the developer’s applications for payment, assessed quality and schedule and reviewed the owner’s direct-purchase program. The project was delivered on-time and within budget.
