Methodist Sugar Land Hospital Expansion

Boyken International was retained to represent the owner in the construction of a new multi-story Acute Care Hospital housing 228 patient beds. Boyken has provided a full complement of services, including program management, cost, schedule, and commissioning management. The owner was highly focused on protecting their interests with regard to time, cost and quality. Construction began in the summer of 2006 and has a scheduled completion date of summer 2008.

The Phase 1 of the Master Plan covers the new Acute Care Hospital. The first two levels of this facility contain a Procedure Center, Educational Center, Heart Center, Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Services as well as additions to the Administrative Services and Support Services areas. The third level houses Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing distribution equipment. Levels four, five, and six are planned as Nursing Floors. A two-story link connects the expansion to the existing hospital at the first and second floors.

Boyken International has facilitated communication between the design and construction teams, creating an environment conducive to schedule adherence and cost and budget awareness at every stage. The project is currently on time and on budget for the projected opening date.
