The new Duval County Courthouse houses 33 courtrooms in a 1.2 million SF complex. The project included the renovation of a 250,000 SF Old Federal Courthouse and 850,000 SF of new construction. This facility is part of a comprehensive judicial complex completed in the first quarter of 2007. The new facility groundbreaking is expected early 2009, with substantial completion anticipated in Summer 2011.

 

Boyken provided cost management and cost estimating services to assist the City in establishing a Guaranteed Maximum Price through verification of quantities and pricing. This created a more competitive bidding process, better defined program requirements, in addition to providing cost escalation control, leading to more value for the County’s investment.
