Atlantis II – Paradise Island, Bahamas

The Atlantis II project, located on Paradise Island, Bahamas, increased the size and quality of the 1994 Atlantis redevelopment. The main components on the Phase II project include a 1,200-room hotel, casino, retail and restaurant spaces, ballroom and meeting rooms, aquarium and water features. Phase II connects to the existing facility via the new 60,000 SF casino and various pedestrian access points. The program included major infrastructure improvements, utilities, roadway and pedestrian and water transportation systems. Site enhancements included the enlargement of the existing Atlantis Aquarium and lagoon systems. It also added a 2.5 million gallon deep-water exhibition tank, two major water slides, two pools and other water activity and feature areas.

Boyken’s program management services included cost estimating, value engineering, contract negotiations, and change order resolution for the owner. This allowed for better control of time and cost throughout the design process, as well as assuring greater value for the money invested.
