Solution: Boyken has provided solutions for two large projects over the past few years. These projects had unique designs with fixed budgets. With the decline in the housing industry and the construction boom in other parts of the world, the cost of construction has dramatically increased throughout the United States.

 

As the designs on these projects progressed, costs estimates were completed and both projects were 20%-25% over the anticipated budget. Through focused solution, driven by the Boyken team, we developed comprehensive “cost reduction/quality maintenance” lists for both projects which were reviewed with the owners and reconciled with their project goals. Based on eliminating or changing selected items on these lists, both projects were brought to within acceptable budget limits, on schedule, without changing the functionality or overall appearance of the facilities.
